Description: This program discusses Role and Responsibilities of Nursing Assistant, Residents Rights, Communication and Interpersonal skills, Prevention and Management of Catastrophe and Unusual Occurrences, Body Mechanics, Medical and Surgical Asepsis, Weights and Measures, Patient Care Skills, Patient Care Procedures, Vital Signs, Nutrition, Emergency Procedures, Long Term Care Patients, Rehabilitative Nursing, Observation and Charting, and Death and Dying. Description: This course involves a careful examination of the different processes involved in CBSPD. Upon completion of training, students receive a Certificate of Completion and prepare to take the proficiency examination by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD). Some of the areas of study: Roles and Responsibilities; Microbiology; Infection Control; Decontamination; Patient Care Equipment; Preparing and Packaging of Surgical Instruments; Sterilization; Sterile Storage; Distribution.
